Job Opening
Head of Marketing Pharma Berlin (m/f/d)
Head of Marketing for a family-owned pharmaceutical company with its own physician-facing sales force. Rx, generics, and a launching DiGA. A seat on the leadership team. Hybrid, Berlin. Business-fluent German required.
Few marketing leaders change jobs because something is going wrong.
They change because the next step is missing.
Perhaps you have been leading a marketing team in the pharmaceutical industry for a few years. The numbers are right, the processes run smoothly, and that is exactly the point. The topics repeat themselves, the learning curve is flattening, and no position above you will open up any time soon.
Or you have led a small team as a Senior Product Manager or Product Group Lead and realized that responsibility suits you. You know your indication, the field force, and the numbers in detail. Only the overall control of portfolio, budget, and team still sits one level above you.
In both cases, this role is worth a closer look:
What would happen if you owned a complete portfolio instead of contributing to individual brands?
Whether this fits your situation is best discussed confidentially.
The Mandate
On behalf of a family-owned client with its own physician-facing sales force, we are appointing a new Head of Marketing (m/f/d). You combine strategic product management with the leadership of a team of around ten people and carry overall responsibility for portfolio, budget, and results. As part of the leadership team, you are highly visible within the company.
The playing field spans scientific communication in the Rx business, a strong sales force, and a commercially driven generics business. In the coming year, new products will be added, and with a DiGA (digital health application), an entirely new category alongside the established medicines. The parent company adds an international dimension.
In short: an environment in which a Head of Marketing can truly shape things.
What You Bring
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have never held overall marketing leadership before?
Then what counts is whether you understand the market and want to take the step. Candidates coming from product or product-group responsibility will find the setting here to grow into overall responsibility.
Do I need experience in a specific indication?
Which indication you currently work in is secondary. What matters is an understanding of marketing via office-based physicians, specialists, and pharmacies. Experience in women's health, gynecology, urology and men's health, dermatology, endocrinology, osteoporosis, ophthalmology, allergology, or similar fields is an advantage but not a strict requirement.
How broad is the portfolio really?
Rx, generics, and with the DiGA an entirely new category. Plus a seat on the leadership team and international integration via the parent company. Flat hierarchies, short decision paths.
What kind of company is behind this?
A family-owned, financially stable pharmaceutical company in the middle of a growth and transformation phase. High visibility, international ties, and attractive compensation.
And the location?
Berlin, Germany, with a hybrid working model.
Do I need to be fluent in German?
Yes. The role leads a German-speaking team and works closely with a physician-facing field force in the German market. Business-fluent German (C1 or above) is a firm requirement. International candidates who meet this language requirement are very welcome.
